(KOTV – News on 6) — The County has $25 million for businesses, $5 million for nonprofits to help cover losses and extra costs because of covid-19.

They’re calling the program “Tulsa County CARES” that’s the name of the application website – tulsacountyCARES.org, that’s live now.

The County is responsible for taking applications – verifying the information – and distributing the money, which they hope to start doing within two weeks.

Stan Sallee, Tulsa County Commissioner: “The economic fallout of the pandemic is yet to be fully realized, but the cares act funding should provide some optimism for these business owners.”

The money is intended for businesses of less than 100 employees, with at least a 25 % loss. Nonprofits can apply too for grants of up to $250 thousand dollars.
